Mission and Outreach

As the hands and feet of Christ, Trinity UMC works in a variety of ways to serve both our worldly community and our local community.

Just a few of our essential “hands-on” ministries include:

Backpack Weekend Food Ministry - we pack bags of food that feed school students nutritious meals on weekends.  This ministry serves students who receive free or reduced lunch at school.  We feed 21+ children from Chapel Grove Elementary each weekend during the school year.

Free Community Breakfast - "Breakfast at Trinity"
Every 3rd Saturday of the month, we offer a free breakfast to our community and surrounding area. We are feeding stomachs and souls!

Crisis Assistance Ministry (CAM)
CAM provides emergency assistance to families and individuals who are experiencing a financial crisis or who are suffering under the continued burden of poverty. CAM offers help with the essential life needs of food, rent/mortgage, utilities, heat, and prescription medicine. Sponsored primarily by 46 congregations from our community, CAM is the largest private emergency assistance agency for the Greater Gastonia community.

Easter Baskets filled with love for the Salvation Army
Each year we fill Easter baskets with toys, books, Easter treats, candy, toothbrush and toothpaste for underprivileged children in Gaston County.
